Budget 2026 - Detailed Summary

The 2026 Budget, delivered by Chancellor John Healey on 28 October, comes against a difficult economic backdrop of subdued growth, elevated energy costs, geopolitical uncertainty and continued pressure on the public finances.

At its core, this is a rather vanilla Budget. It provides some welcome relief for households and businesses but does not fundamentally alter the UK's wider fiscal position.

In this document we have summarised the main tax proposals and their impact, and also included reminders of some matters announced in previous Budgets but only now coming into force. If you would like to discuss what it all means for you, we will be happy to help.
